As summer turns to fall,
the colors fade to grey
your memory still lingers
whispering, what do you say?
the face staring at me
from the mirror in your room
reflects the times you smiled
reflects your inner gloom
pain set us apart
started you on your drifting
I, watching, waiting,
breath held
was your mood lifting?
longing to talk to you
bout those times, oh how they
flew by
but sensing your disinterest
by your very loud sigh
turning away from that mirror
I lost sight of your soul
saving my own love, life,
became my biggest goal.
wandering now through those corridors
seeing the doors I never chose
never too late for me, love
I have grown, opened like a rose.

What a touching statement. We've all been there. Thank you so much for posting it.
WHy thank you, Mr GOomba, I thought I was alone here behind this curtain...
